Bio

As the Director of Agricultural Analytics for the Data Science Academy, my role is to help identify and facilitate new and ongoing research and training mechanisms for students to engage in project-based data science using agricultural data to answer research questions posed by academic researchers, extension agents, government and/or industry partners. These training efforts will help disseminate data-driven solutions in the agricultural research community and foster digital adoption in agriculture.

My focus is on broadening participation of the research workforce with talented and inquisitive students who

  • represent the intersectionalities of our population,
  • perform interdisciplinary data-intensive convergent responsible research focused on grand societal challenges, including increasing crop yields, minimizing food waste, maximizing bioenergy and bioproducts, and enhancing agricultural and environmental sustainability, and
  • are well-equipped through formal professional development and soft-skill training to become leaders in academia, industry and government careers.
