The Data Science Academy is collaborating with several NC State colleges to develop data science minors and certificates.

Undergraduate Certificate of Data Science in Business
The Undergraduate Certificate of Data Science in Business is a 12 credit interdisciplinary credential that offers a path towards developing essential skills in data science with depth in Business (BUS) content. Students who pursue this certificate will have the opportunity to learn from data science instructors & practitioners, and Business faculty in industry & academia, alongside their peers from various colleges. Students will pursue courses in data management, communication, applications, ethics, business, and more, in addition to choosing from electives of interest.

- Note 1: DSC 295, DSC 495, and DSC 595 courses must be individually approved for the certificate.
- Note 2: Students pursuing multiple Data Science Academy credentials must have at least 2 distinct 1-credit DSC courses and 2 distinct 3-credit depth courses between any two credentials (8 distinct credits total).
- Note 3: Per university requirements courses already used to satisfy two or more credit requirements cannot also be used to satisfy the data science certificate (or any third requirement).
Undergraduate Minor of Data Science in Analytics and Decision-Making
The Undergraduate Minor of Data Science in Analytics and Decision-Making is a 15 credit interdisciplinary credential that offers a path towards developing essential skills in data science with depth in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) content. Students who pursue this minor will have the opportunity to learn from data science instructors & practitioners and ISE faculty in industry and academia, alongside their peers from various colleges. Students will pursue courses in data management, communication, applications, ethics, engineering, and more, in addition to choosing from electives of interest.

Steps for Faculty/Staff Course Registration
- Step 1: Visit the NC State Tuition Waiver website for more details and instructions for Faculty/Staff
- Step 2: Apply for admission as a non-degree seeking student and get accepted (Application Fee)
- Step 3: Enroll in class – keep in mind the registration dates!
- Step 4: Fill out and submit Tuition Waiver online notification form
- Step 5: Fill out and get supervisor approval for the actual tuition waiver
- Step 6: Then you will receive and email stating that the waiver has been approved. At this point, please check your MyPack Portal to ensure you do not have any outstanding balances
