The Data Science and AI Academy (DSA) is excited to announce the recipients of its latest round of Seed Grants, totaling $245,400 across eight groundbreaking research proposals. This year’s grants represent a significant milestone in supporting interdisciplinary collaboration at NC State University, with projects spanning all 11 colleges and NC State University Libraries for the first time. This broad engagement underscores the Academy’s commitment to advancing innovative research by bringing together diverse expertise from across the University.

Seed Grant Awardees Aim to Revolutionize Farming with Data Science

The project, titled “Delivering On-Farm Recommendations through Interdisciplinary Data Science,” leverages cloud computing, analytics infrastructure, and data science expertise, and seeks to develop a farmer decision support tool via the SAS Viya platform.

3rd Annual DataFest at NC State

The DSA hosted the third annual DataFest at NC State, held over the weekend of April 5-7. Fifty-two undergraduate students from NC State, Meredith College and UNC Charlotte participated in the 2024 DataFest at NC State to compete and collaborate on a secret dataset provided by the American Statistical Association (ASA).
