The Data Science and AI Academy has expanded its course list!

Did you know? You can take Data Science and AI (DSA) courses as electives: students can choose from several topics listed under the DSA prefix.

Courses are open to undergraduate and graduate students from any major in any college. Faculty, postdocs and staff are also welcome and encouraged to enroll.

Here are three reasons to add a DSA course to your schedule.

1. Grow industry-relevant skills

NC State’s Data Science and AI courses are designed to equip students with practical skills that are highly relevant in today’s job market. As data-driven decision-making becomes increasingly important across industries, mastering data science techniques can boost your resume and open up career opportunities.

2. Get hands-on experience

The Data Science and AI Academy designs and delivers instruction through the ADAPT model. Our courses have homework and projects but no quizzes, tests, or exams. Students complete projects, sometimes as a series of assignments or as a final project. Projects are hands-on, workforce-relevant ways to engage and retain ideas and skills.

3. Learn from an interdisciplinary perspective

Data science intersects with various fields, from social sciences to humanities to STEM. DSA courses create many pathways into data science. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in interdisciplinary learning, gaining insights from multiple perspectives and developing a well-rounded understanding of how data science applies across different career paths.

There’s truly something for everyone.

Add a DSA course and start – or continue – exploring data science!
